Emotions were high as GMA personalities came together to witness the advance screening of 'Firefly,' GMA Network's official entry to the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival.
Firefly stars Alessandra De Rossi, Euwenn Mikaell, Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Cherry Pie Picache, Epy Quizon, Yayo Aguila, and Max Collins showcased their elegant outfits on the blue carpet at the event held at SM North Edsa, Quezon City.
GMA Public Affairs personalities Jessica Soho, Kara David, and Atom Araullo also graced the advance screening of Firefly. After watching the movie first-hand, Jessica couldn't help but sing praises while Kara admitted she felt emotional because of the heartfelt story.
Jessica said, "Naiyak ako. Ang simple nung istorya pero napakapowerful. It just tells you na a story can be so powerful. Pinakita rin ng pelikula sa akin the power of a dream, aside from the power of a good story and good storytelling, ang lesson din is the power of a dream."
"Dapat never let go of your dreams, at tsaka, hindi dapat manatili sa dilim ang mga bagay bagay. There is light at the end of the everything."
Kara commended, "Beautiful, beautiful film. Seven times akong naiyak."
Firefly will be shown in cinemas nationwide starting December 25 as an official entry to the annual Metro Manila Film Festival.

'Firefly' lead star Alessandra De Rossi slayed in her dark blue dress on the event's blue carpet. In the movie, Alessandra plays Elay, the loving mother of Tonton who tells him bedtime stories about an island full of fireflies where wishes are granted.
Kapuso child star Euwenn Mikaell looked dapper in his blue blazer and white pants. Euwenn stars as Tonton, the sweet and loving son of Elay who believes in the mythical island of fireflies and wants to wish for courage.
Miguel Tanfelix was the definition of handsome in his blue suit. Miguel plays the character of Billy, one of the people whom Tonton meets on his journey towards the island of fireflies.
Ysabel Ortega looked ethereal in her blue dress. Ysabel plays the character of Erika, someone whom Tonton meets along the way. Erika runs away from her home and travels alone to find herself.
Cherry Pie Picache also attended the advance screening of 'Firefly.' In the movie, Cherry Pie portrays Auntie Linda, the only relative of Elay and Tonton in Manila.
Seasoned actor Epy Quizon portrays yet another meaningful character in Mang Louie, a middle-aged man with a troubled past who is trying to prove that he is a good person. He is one of the three strangers Tonton will meet as he tries to find the island of fireflies.
Yayo Aguila was ageless in her light blue blazer as she walked the blue carpet of 'Firefly.' In the movie, she portrays Carmen, the loving wife of Mang Louie who's been longing to be reunited with her husband.
Kapuso actress Max Collins walked the blue carpet with her best friend, Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee. In 'Firefly,' Max portrays Gabbi, an up-and-coming journalist who tries to find out the truth behind Tonton's stories.
Despite her busy schedule, Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee showed her support to her best friend Max Collins.
Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza showed her full support for her Maria Clara and Ibarra director Zig Dulay as she arrived in style at 'Firefly' advance screening.
