Five fun facts about Maine Mendoza

What better way to get to know Maine Mendoza (a.k.a. Yaya Dub) better than through stories from her loved ones? During the 'Tamang Panahon' event on 'Eat Bulaga' last Saturday, people who have known her much longer than we have revealed a few fun facts about the phenomenal Yaya Dub actress.
1. She is fondly called Menggay by her family.
Before she became our favorite yaya and the newest addition to the Sugod Bahay Gang of the longest running noontime show in the Philippines, she was known as Menggay by the people closest to her.
2. She is shy.
It may be hard to believe but her mom Mary Anne described her to be quite reserved. "Sa amin, si Menggay, tahimik siya. Medyo tahimik dahil takot siya sa tao," she revealed. There are even times, she shared, that Maine courses sentiments she would like to voice out through her sister Coleen.
3. She is vain.
According to her barkada, Maine often needs to be in front of a mirror. "Si Maine, napaka-vain. Hindi yan nabubuhay na walang salamin sa harap niya. Gusto niya kumakain siya sa cafeteria namin, may salamin," her friend said.
4. She’s direct.
Whenever you need a snap back to reality, Maine is a friend you want to have around. "Hindi siya mahilig mag-sugarcoat ng kahit ano. Kung anong gusto niyang sabihin sa ‘yo, talagang sasabihin niya kahit masaktan ka," another friend disclosed.
5. She’s "very normal."
Although all eyes are on her now, she’s still much like most young people today. "Kung makikita mo siya dito [sa bahay], very normal. Pagdating dito, kakain tapos akyat na sa taas, tapos laptop lang saka cellphone kaharap niya, nanonood ng TV," her sister shared.
