For Filipino-Irish StarStruck contestant Avery Paraiso, the way to reach any dream is to continuously make one’s self better. As an artista hopeful, he recognizes a streak of improvement in this season’s journey host Rocco Nacino, and hopes to reach the same level of excellence.

“Nakita ko 'yung improvement niya over time, mula nung batch [niya] ng StarStruck to [now]. 'Yung acting niya, 'yung hosting niya, 'yung presence niya which talagang [makikita mo na] nag-increase. I would like to follow that path,” the twenty-one-year-old said.

Avery admires how Rocco has made a name for himself, even if he didn’t bring home the Ultimate Male Survivor title in season 5.

“Sobrang sumikat siya. Even if hindi siya nanalo, he still pursued it, and that’s what I would like to do even if I don’t win. Honestly, when I joined [this competition], I did not expect to get this far [and have the chance] to win. So [no matter what happens], I will keep pursuing [my dream],” he added.

The survivors of season 6 are now down to eight hopefuls. They’ll be trimmed down to six after a talent face-off this Friday.
