His current roster of Filipino talents are rock band Slapshock, reality TV singing competition semi-finalist Jessica Reynoso and singer-pianist Miguel Antonio.

Apl is still on the lookout for new talents which he can collaborate with in making good music, including artists from the Kapuso network.

In an interview with GMANetwork.com during his 'What's Ap?' book launch, Apl said, “Yeah, you know, any artists I like to work with that really captures my ear, and if I see what I like, it doesn’t matter [if they are from GMA]. I’m open to anything from international, local to anyone whoever asks.”

The record producer may be known for hip-hop music, but he is not limiting his pool of talents to that genre alone. He added, “I’m open to any type of genre. I’m just not looking for one genre, I’m looking for every genre actually. So far, I have rock, R&B, soul R&B and [hip-hop].”

The Black Eyed Peas member is setting his sights on “the upcoming young rapper.” The Fil-Am rapper stated he has not found the next music icon yet, but he is looking at a few kids he has encountered, “You never know when it [is going to] happen, but I always have my eyes open.”

What are the qualities he is looking for? “It’s the artist. I have to see the aura or how much they want it or if they’re truly dedicated. [They have to have] the charisma and they have to love doing live shows.”
