Lexi Fernandez, babalik kaya ng showbiz after college?

By GIA ALLANA SORIANO

Maritoni Fernandez’s daughter, Lexi, is currently taking a leave from show business to pursue her college degree. The 21-year-old is now taking up Child Development Psychology, with hopes to put up her own school someday, all because she loves kids. The proud mom also noted that her daughter's new dream is "a wonderful career."

In an exclusive interview with the That’s My Amboy star, Maritoni shared tidbits about her daughter’s plans, especially whether she plans to go back to show business after college.

She gushed, “You know what, I truly hope so [that she does go back,] because I love showbiz. There are jobs na na-burn out ka, na gusto mo magbakasyon for a while, 'di ba? Pero generally speaking pag nasa dugo mo talaga, nasa dugo mo. And I’ve been in showbiz now for 29 years. I started when I was 19. I really hope that she does decide to pursue [it again,] kahit 'di siya permanent and full time.”

The actress added, “Kasi, for me, showbiz has really been a blessing, and talagang passion ko talaga. Like I said there are times na mabu-burnout ka, like any other career, na gusto mo muna magbakasyon. Actually, ito 'yung isang career na pwede mong gawin 'yun [ang magbreak muna.] Pwede mo sabihin na time out muna, I want to try something else, something new, for a little while. And it’s such a forgiving industry that if you have a good track record, you’re easy to work with, and you’re professional, then you’re always welcome any time to come back.

“So, I pray that, you know, kung 'yun ang gusto niya, I will always be supportive of her. Whatever she wants to do, I’m there for her.”
