Aiai Delas Alas tackles social issue in new indie film

After the big success of her Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2015 romantic comedy movie "My Bebe Love," Kapuso star Aiai Delas Alas is making a switch to drama for her upcoming international film "Area."

"Excited na [ako]," she said on Instagram. It's been years since she debuted in Cinemalaya for the film "Ronda" which she co-produced in 2014. The versatile actress will make a comeback in the indie film scene to take the role of a laundry woman by day and a prostitute at night.

"Thanks BG Productions [International] and Direk [Louie] Ignacio. I am looking forward to work with you in this new ornamental and sublime project contemplating about impecunious and whoring," she added.

It was the director's film "Asintado" which earned actress-politician Aiko Melendez her two "Best Actress" awards from international film festivals, while his movie "Child Haus" won as the "Best Children Film" in Dhaka International Film Festival.
