Iya Villania admits acting is not her forte but enjoys playing Rebecca in 'Because of You'

"Even with the soap, I have to admit that acting really isn't my forte, not really my thing."

This was Iya Villania's confession during an interview with the entertainment press at the press launch of Lip Sync Battle Philippines. She will be the show's color commentator, with Michael V as the host.

But the actress-host immediately refutes her statement.

"But this time I'm really, really enjoying it. Kahit puyat ako, I really don't mind. And it's the first time that I have actually felt this way about acting," referring to her role as Rebecca in the primetime series Because of You.

So what is it about acting that she doesn't really like?

"Ayoko ng drama. I just find it very stressful. It doesn't come naturally for me. I prefer to do something that is more natural. There are actresses out there na mahal talaga nila ang pag-arte. Payag sila to put themselves in certain situations. Ako, I have tried that and it stressed me out."

She adds, "Hindi maganda sa health, sa disposition ko in life. So if I have an option, dito na lang ako. Because there are other [artists] that love the drama, that really get a sense of fulfillment out of it. I get a sense of depression (laughs)."
