Ivana Alawi thumbs down the idea of joining politics

During the filing of the certificate of candidacies (COC) for the 2025 elections, the public saw different personalities, including celebrities, hoping to get elected next year.
With regard to this, content creator and endorser Ivana Alawi took to TikTok to share her thoughts about these showbiz and social media personalities joining politics.
Her now viral video, which has over two million views as of writing, Ivana answered the nagging question of her fans and followers: "Tatakbo ka ba?"
“Sana suportahan n'yo ako sa hindi ko pagtakbo," she stated.
Ivana went on to explain: “Bakit naman ako tatakbo sa ngayon? Wala ako alam sa politics, wala ako alam sa paggawa ng batas. And siguro kung papasok man ako sa ganiyan, dapat mag-aral man lang ako ng three to four years, because I don't want to put our country at risk.”
She also stressed, "Bakit ako papasok sa isang bagay na hindi ako handa. A lot of people would say, 'E gusto ko kasi makatulong sa Pilipinas. Gusto ko makatulong sa kababayan natin.'
“Guys! Kayang-kaya natin gawin 'yun even without being into politics, kahit wala kang posisyon. Kahit wala kang upuan, kaya mo makatulong.
“Hindi mo kailangan maging congressman or mayor, or councilor para makatulong ka. We can all help out in our small way. Kapag papasok ka sa politics at ipaglalaban mo ang Pilipinas dapat may utak ka. At hindi lang yun, dapat may laman 'yung utak mo.”
The former StarStruck finalist also stressed that she is not against celebrities gunning for a post, but is merely expressing her views on why politics is not a path for her.
“I have nothing against the people who are running, kasi buhay nila 'yun. Gusto nila tumakbo, but this is my opinion and my thought; and my answer to the messages that I've been getting.
“Kapag boboto kayo, please vote wisely, kasi mahal natin ang Pilipinas. And I believe aasenso ang Pilipinas as long as we pick the right leaders. And the right people to lead our country.”
