Benjamin Alves shares his first encounter with poetry

At Benjamin Alves' recent birthday celebration held at the Asia Pacific College, he shared the first time he fell in love with the written word.

The University of Guam English Literature Summa Cum Laude English revealed that it happened quite early on. He presented a simple writing for one of his school homework that started with a basic rhyme scheme.

He recalls, "I started very young, siguro I was nine years old... Alam niyo 'yung rhyme scheme na ABAB? Ganun lang."

Benjamin remembers that the topic was not even profound as he was just a child when he first discovered his passion.

"It wasn't about love, nine years old pa lang ako nun e. Hindi pa ako nasasaktan eh," he added in jest.

Now that Benjamin has been exposed to love and despair, he bares his emotions through a series of poems in his Instagram account. One of which was a part he recited during his poetry-themed birthday at the Asia Pacific College.
