'Unang Hirit' gets up close with Melissa McCarthy and 'Ghostbusters' director

By BEA RODRIGUEZ

Unang Hirit host Lyn Ching in Ghostbusters costume graced the red carpet event of the movie in Singapore wherein she got to interview lead star Melissa McCarthy and Director Paul Fieg.

She asked the Hollywood actress how it felt wearing the iconic suit. Melissa said, “It was pretty surreal and overwhelming when we all first got dressed. It’s such a huge part of my childhood.”

In contrary to the 1984 American supernatural horror comedy film in which an all-male parapsychology professors were hired as a unique team of ghost removal service, the 2016 reboot casted comedians Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.

Surprisingly, Hollywood action star Chris Hemsworth made the cut of the comedy film. According to Director Paul, “I knew he was funny, but I didn’t know he was like hilarious.”

It was his improvisation skills that made the crew crack up. He added, “The first day he got on the set, he did his interviews. He’s making us all laugh. [The] girls were looking at me [and asked], ‘Do you like that?’ I was like, ‘He came up with that? He’s unbelievable.’”

The Colombia Pictures film will premiere this coming July.
