EXCLUSIVE: Aljur Abrenica dedicates his song 'Mahal Pa Rin Kita' to the Kapuso network
Once Again star Aljur Abrenica released his latest single, a remake of the popular 90s song “Mahal Pa Rin Kita” earlier this year which is simultaneous to his ongoing GMA Telebabad soap.
In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, the actor singer revealed, “Marami akong pinaglaanan niyan ‘yan eh – tao, bagay, pangyayari” but he specifically identified the Kapuso network as his main inspiration for the song.
“Nandito ako ngayon [at] nagdesisyon akong mag-stay dito sa GMA kasi dito [ako] nagsimula [at] dito tayo nagkapangalan. Kumbaga, naging ka-partner [ko] ‘yung GMA sa journey [ko] sa pagtupad ng mga pangarap [ko],” he explained.
The Kapuso star remembered his roots and where he started as an artist. He recalled, “Sa naging journey ko, na-realize ko na bata pa kasi ako noon na nagkakamali tayo. Nagkamali ako tapos nagkaroon ako ng panahon para sa sarili ko, para makapag-isip.”
After his one year hiatus in showbiz, Aljur made his comeback through GMA’s romantic drama anthology Dangwa as one of the two leading men opposite Kapuso “It” girl Janine Gutierrez.
“Nalaman ko kung ano talaga ang gusto ko, ayaw ko at nalaman ko rin kung bakit ako nandito. ‘Yun ang purpose so kaya po [ako] nandito ngayon. Hindi po ito aksidente [dahil] lahat po ito ay dinisisyunan at pinag-isipan nang mabuti,” the Kapuso actor said.
He thanked his mother network for giving him another chance and for entrusting him the high-rated Primetime soap Once Again which is his second project with his leading lady, “Naniniwala kasi akong bawat tao sa mundo [ay] may purpose eh at naniniwala ako na ang pag-stay ko dito sa GMA ay may pupuntahan.”
Aljur also thanked the loyal viewers of the Kapuso network who has been supporting him all throughout his showbiz career.
