The search for the next campus star has ended, as the first-ever Sparkle Campus Cutie officially names its grand winner.
From the Top 20 down to one standout, Spike Prince of the South Mad Ramos from the University of Santo Tomas has been crowned the ultimate Sparkle Campus Cutie and is now set to rise as Sparkle's next leading star.
Present at the finale as judges were GMA Network's Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and CEO of GMA Films, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes and Sparkle GMA Artist Center and Talent Development and Management First Vice President Joy Marcelo.
Representatives from the sponsors of this first-ever Sparkle Campus Cutie search were also in attendance and served as the judging panel.
The Top 20 finalists kicked off the finale by showcasing their talents through singing and dancing, followed by a runway segment where they flaunted their casual wear.
From there, the competition was narrowed down to the Top 10, which included Mad Ramos, Andrei Fajardo, Kady Costales, Winston Stolk, Ralph Miaco, Kiko Antonio, Neathan Tan, David Bunagan, and Mateo Monzones. These finalists then faced the Q&A round, where they shared why they deserved to win the title.
After careful deliberation, the judges announced the final two contenders: Andrei and Mad.
With Mad named the grand winner, Sparkle will award him a management contract, marking the start of his exciting journey toward becoming the next Kapuso leading man.
Accepting his award, Mad expressed heartfelt gratitude to the GMA executives for the opportunity, saying, “Binuo niyo po 'yung pangarap ko.”
The finalists, aged 16 to 22 and from various schools, underwent intensive workshops with Barbie Forteza, Paolo Contis, and the King of Talk, Boy Abunda, to hone their acting, singing, dancing, and communication skills.
