GMA Network to air Miss Global 2016 this October

GMA Network is proud to announce its partnership with Miss Global 2016 as its official media partner. The pageant will take place at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City on September 24 (Saturday).

The network’s First Vice President for Program Management Jose Mari “Joey” Abacan confirmed it in an interview with GMANetwork.com, “I’m very happy that Miss Global 2016 is actually [going to] be airing in GMA News TV. I watched [the Miss Global Philippines 2016 pageant], and I was very much impressed with the way they produced the production.”

Meanwhile, Miss Global 2015 Jessica Peart of Australia is in the country to pass on the crown to the next titleholder. She said, “I’m really excited to be here and I’m so excited for the international pageant to be held here for the second time in a row.”

Candice Ramos who placed 4th Runner-up in the international competition also expressed her excitement over the announcement. She said, “It’s an honor to be hosting another international pageant in the country. I mean, we’ve been very competitive when it comes to international beauty pageants and this time, I think we’re [going to] continue the legacy.”

Philippines’ bet Camille Hirro who was crowned two months ago is all set to conquer the stage this September, “I am very excited.”

She also brought back a memory with the Kapuso network, “GMA is very close to my heart because I did my internship here a couple of years ago. It’s also very exciting that we’re partnering with one of the premiere TV stations here in the country.”

Lastly, Abacan hopes the pageant will be “bigger” and be “one of the most prestigious pageants in the whole wide world.”

The coronation night will be aired on GMA News TV on October 9, Sunday at 9pm.
