The Philippines is currently facing a strong southwest monsoon that has been dumping huge amounts of rain in several parts of the country for more than a week.

According to a report by GMA News Online, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) recorded nine fatalities and more than 200,000 people were affected by the habagat.

Kapuso heartthrob and Pepito Manaloto star Jake Vargas posted a short video on Instagram traveling on a flooded road.

Meanwhile, Traffic Diva Aicelle Santos prayed for his boyfriend Mark Zambrano and his team’s safety as they were assigned to cover and report about the effects of the southwest monsoon in the province of Bataan.

She posted, “Sending prayers to @markzambrano and his team in Bataan coverage. Panginoon, command the rains to stop as more people are being affected. Ingat kayo mahal ko. Please come home to me safe. Mag-ingat po tayo lahat."

The Kapuso Diva in another post praised Mark for his dedication as a GMA News reporter.

“I'm very proud of you mahal. Salamat sa iyong dedikasyon at ng buong team maibalita lang ang kalagayan ng ating mga kababayan. Ingat kayo mahal. I love you and i miss you.”
