Dennis Trillo is the first Filipino actor to win the Asian Star Prize of the Seoul International Drama Awards
Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo adds another entry to his list of awards as he is the first Filipino recipient of the Asian Star Prize in this year's Seoul International Drama Awards.
Dennis flew to Seoul to personally accept the award. He was accompanied by his manager Popoy Caritativo, who posted a video of the actor's acceptance speech.
"I would like to thank the Seoul International Drama Awards for this award and recognition. This is very special to me because it was given by the Korean people who are very well known in creating the best dramas in the world. In the Philippines, we also do our best and try to create quality programs for the Filipino audience, and this award will continue to inspire me in honing my craft as a dramatic actor. I would also like to share this award with my home network GMA 7, to my family, my loved ones, to all the Filipinos and all my supporters. Thank you very much, Kamsahamnida, to God be the glory. Mabuhay ang mga Pilipino!"

He received this award for his role as Emman in the primetime series My Faithful Husband. Dennis expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in the said project.
"Hindi mangyayari ang lahat ng ito kung hindi dahil sa aking Kapuso network, sa lahat ng mga sumubaybay sa "My Faithful Husband", sa aming mahusay na director na si [Bb. Joyce Bernal], sa aking magaling na manager [Popoy Caritativo]. At siyempre walang Papaw kung wala si Mamaw [Jennylyn Mercado]. Salamat sa inspirasyon at pagmamahal. Sa Diyos ang lahat ng kapurihan, maraming salamat po."
The Seoul International Drama Awards is organized by the Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee and the Korean Broadcasters Association. According to its official website, it is a festival that brings together all professionals in the field of TV drama production and media industry and global audiences who enjoy television dramas. The Asian Prize Award recognizes and rewards Asian talent widely beloved by the Korean audience.
The Seoul International Drama Awards Ceremonies is held today, September 8, in KBS Hall in Seoul, South Korea and broadcasted live on KBS 2TV.
