Hillarie Parungao opens doors to a showbiz career

By MARY LOUISE LIGUNAS

Hillarie Parungao is about to end her reign as Miss World Philippines. The past year has been nothing short of amazing for her and she’s sure to take the experiences and lessons she gained even way after she passes on the crown.

“It was a roller coaster ride for me. Being able to compete in China with a hundred and fourteen girls from all over the world was very exhilarating and being able to do all my charity events, being able to be heard, to do the works that I do. I’m so happy for all of that,” she said.

Though she was busy the entire year, she doesn’t see herself taking a break. She wants to try new things, and is open to the possibility of joining showbiz.

“No resting for me. I never wanted to rest. I obviously want something new to happen in my life. Now that Viva is already with the family of Miss World Philippines, I really entrust to them whatever they want for my career,” she noted.

There may be a lot of changes in her life in the near future but she wants to be able to continue the advocacy work that Miss World Philippines enabled her to do.

“[I want to be able to] continue with my advocacy which is called the Katuwang, a fight against child mortality. I really wanna strengthen that and put it [out there] as much as possible,” she concluded.

Hillarie will pass on the crown  this Sunday, October 2. Miss World Philippines will be broadcasted on GMA’s SNBO, 10:15PM.
