The many feathers on Dennis Trillo's cap
Another feather is added on the multi-awarded Kapuso star Dennis Trillo’s cap as he was recently awarded the Asian Star Prize award from the Seoul International Drama Awards for his role in My Faithful Husband.
In his Instagram post, the actor narrated his gratitude towards his fans and his mother network, GMA: "I would like to thank the Seoul International Drama Awards for this award and recognition. This is very special to me because it was given by the Korean people who are very well known in creating the best dramas in the world. In the Philippines, we also do our best and try to create quality programs for the Filipino audience, and this award will continue to inspire me in honing my craft as a dramatic actor. I would also like to share this award with my home network GMA 7, to my family, my loved ones, to all the Filipinos and all my supporters. Thank you very much, Kamsahamnida, to God be the glory. Mabuhay ang mga Pilipino!"
Dennis Trillo’s acting chops was first recognized in his 2005 film Aishite Imasu 1941: Mahal Kita, which also starred Judy Ann Santos and Raymart Santiago. The actor was named Best Supporting Actor three times, namely from the Metro Manila Film Festival, FAMAS awards, and the Golden Screen Awards. He also bagged the Best Actor Award from LUNA and the New Movie Actor of the Year from PMPC Star Awards for Movies for the same year.
The actor became a household name after being paired with Tom Rodriguez in My Husband’s Lover. Dennis was "highly commended" by the Asian Television Awards for his role. He also won the Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, presented by the Golden Screen TV Awards, in 2014. PEP also named the actor, together with Tom Rodriguez, as the Celebrity Pair of the Year.
His most recent win, before bagging the Asian Star Prize at the KBS Hall in Seoul, South Korea, was being named Movie Actor of the Year by the PMPC Star Awards for Movies for his movie Felix Manalo.
