By BEA RODRIGUEZ

Actress-film producer and wife of Director Carlo J. Caparas, Donna Villa, succumbed to cancer yesterday, January 17. She was 57.

Words of mourning filled the world of show business as another industry veteran bid goodbye.

Her children, actor C.J. Caparas and FAMAS Best New Female Artist Ysabelle Peach expressed their sorrow on their social media posts.

C.J., the firstborn and the only son in the family, remembers his mom as the “bright star” of his life for shielding him from the cruel world as a little boy.

He thanked the people who helped their family during this most difficult time, “I also want to use this post to thank your countless doctors and nurses from [the University of Santo Tomas] Hospital who tended to you day and night.”

The younger Caparas also mentioned how his Dad remained as strong as a rock, “You are the epitome of poise and perseverance. You showed grit and resilience even if I knew that the burden was already too much for you to bear.”

Meanwhile, the young actress calls her mom a “beautiful human being” who has a “big, bright, beautiful spirit.”

She promised to fulfill her mom’s wishes, “We will continue what you started, we will help those who need us and live every damn day full of love because that’s what you would’ve wanted.”

“Needless to say, not all battles here on earth are won, but victory awaits us on the other side. I know you’ll continue to give us your love and guidance just from higher up. I love you, my Queen,” she concluded.
