Yesterday, February 13, Rhian Ramos and her official fan group, CybeRHIANs gave away free pepper spray to ladies at Ayala MRT Station.

In a video, Rhian described the reason behind the project that aims to protect the ladies. According to Rhian she will not be present during the distribution of the pepper spray but she will be watching everything from afar.

Rhian disclosed that the sexual harassment incident was the main reason why she organized this project.

"I wrote something about an experience where I felt disrespected. This brought about so many emails, and DMs (direct messages), and comments about people having negative experiences. Not only about disrespect but also about their safety on public transport."

Rhian continued, "I feel like maybe it's a possibility that so many bad things happen to girls because we have some kind of image where we can't really defend ourselves. Probably because physically, we're just small."

The Kapuso star also revealed that the cans came from the person who was part of the said incident as a way to ask for forgiveness from her.

She said, "The cans were actually given to me as an apology gesture by said person in said incident. And I think it will be really useful in a cause that's bigger than what could have been just an embarrassing incident for me."

Rhian is hoping that this project will be a source of empowerment for ladies. She said, "I hope those girls tomorrow will feel more able and empowered to protect themselves."
