Gerald Santos, will he be the next PPS2 finalist?

Malakas ang bulong-bulungan! Si Gerald Santos na nga ba ang next Pinoy Pop Superstar? The young singer from Navotas, garnered a 99% score from the judges when he toppled Harry Santos two weeks ago -- the highest in the competition’s history. Pero happy pa rin si Harry. After all, he was the first one to make it to the Finalists’ Grand Showdown slate. Meantime, across town, Gerald is already sweeping fans from neighbors and viewers. Supporters haul themselves in jeeps just to cheer for the lad every taping date. Kaya naman touched na touched si Gerald sa warm gesture. His biggest gratitude however goes to his dad, Danny Santos, who himself is awed by the big voice of his son. To this day, many can very well remember composer and Pinoy Pop Superstar judge Danny Tan saying “Mamahalin siya ng masa.” Was he referring to Harry or Gerald? That’s a well-kept secret, so hush muna tayo on that area for now. But because Gerald’s performance reaped unprecedented results, he sure is deserving of each compliment he receives. So far, Gerald is holding up very well to his title as the Pinoy Pop Defending Champion. He returns this week after 15-year-old contender, Khristine Elma lost to him in the last episode. Despite giving her all in the song, “Kung Ako Na Lang Sana,” this was overshadowed by Gerald’s rendition of “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.” This Saturday, will Gerald continue to impress the judges and viewers?
