Kapuso actor Gabby Concepcion won the Asian Star Prize at the 12th Seoul International Drama Awards held today, September 7, at KBS Hall in Seoul, Korea.

The Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee recognized Gabby's outstanding performance in the highest day-time drama show Ika-6 Na Utos where he portrays the character of Rome.

Since its launch in 2006, the organization has been connecting a variety of countries by encouraging them to share their finest drama shows.

In his speech, Gabby expressed his gratitude to his home network and GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon. "Kamsamnida (thank you). This is the first time to receive [this] kind of award. This is really something special for me. I'd like to thank GMA 7. Thank you very much, Atty. Gozon. It's his birthday today, this is for you," the actor shared.

Gabby did not forget to mention his Ika-6 Na Utos family. He said, "Ika-6 na Utos would not have been possible if not from the brilliant minds of our scriptwriters, actors, directors, staff, and crew."

"I would like to dedicate this to my children and to the Filipinos who are here tonight, to my Korean friends who have been in the Philippines as well, [and] to our international friends who are always there to love and support us," Gabby ended.

Gabby was the second Filipino to be honored at the Seoul International Drama Awards as his fellow Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo brought home the same prize in 2016.
