Alden Richards was named as Safeguard's newest endorser in an event held on October 12 and he couldn't be any happier. As the newest face for the brand, Alden took part in the celebration of Global Handwashing Day in Baseco, Tondo.

In an interview with the press, Alden said that he's glad to add Safeguard to the long list of brands he endorses.

"Very thankful ako to all the brands who has been very considerate when it comes to getting me as an endorser. Happy ako na up to this point, there are still brands that trust me to be the face of their brand. Like what I've said in my previous interviews with regards to being an endorser, iba talaga 'pag you really know the product by heart, you know what the product does to the consumers. 'Yun 'yung one of my principles of course when getting endorsements," the Pambansang Bae stated.

He also considers it an honor to be part of the Global Handwashing Day because according to Alden, it is important to "remind the youth and of course to remind the people to continuously wash their hands. That's how we can prevent sickness from spreading. We have to really widen the range of this campaign kasi a lot of us take handwashing for granted."

Alden has recently received a lot of compliments on social media for not being afraid to speak up on social issues such as when he starred in the Martial Law special "Alaala" and when he spoke about his mother's experience with depression. When asked about it, Alden then shared that it truly is one of his goals to use his star power for positive change.

"I'm very happy and at least nafu-fulfill ko 'yung duty and responsibility ko as a public figure. One of my advocacies is to really use media to influence the youth and the viewers, and 'yung mga nanonood sa'min everyday to be the ones to initiate change in the country. Change for the better, change for the good," answered the actor.
