EXCLUSIVE: JBK reveals dramatic back story behind their last performance on the 'X-Factor UK'

By Cherry Sun

JBK fought hard in their last performance on the X-Factor UK despite all the unexpected series of events that led to their elimination.

The vocal trio, composed of Joshua Bulot, Bryan del Rosario and Kim Ordonio, shared in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com all the drama - which didn’t air on TV - that they had to deal with during their stint at the show’s ‘6-Chair Challenge.’

First, they revealed that their original piece for the segment was Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons” but they were interrupted during their performance only to be told to change their song choice. Instead, what was included in the episode was their rendition of Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love To You.”

Bryan revealed, “Actually ‘yung “I’ll Make Love [To You]” last minute na siya na binigay sa amin. Tapos in-arrange pa ng parang kantang two minutes. Buti na lang, naareglo namin mga siguro three hours before the show na mabigyan ng highlight, na mabigyan ng bosesan.”

JBK also admitted how they were caught off-guard when they were literally unseated and sent for a sing-off. After replacing their original piece with “I’ll Make Love To You,” they were only left to sing “I Can Love You Like That,” the third and last piece they have studied from the list of songs on X-Factor UK’s songbook.

“Hindi namin talaga inexpect ‘yun so ‘di namin alam kung saan, ‘Saan natin sisimulan ‘tong kantang ‘to?’ And never pa namin ‘yun kinanta nang a cappella. Never pa, kasi ang agreement ng X-Factor, sabi nila lalagyan daw nila ng minus one,” Joshua said, explaining the awkward start of their last performance.

“[Pero] si Simon (Cowell) once nagsabi na a cappella lang, wala nang magagawa lahat kasi decision niya ‘yun eh,” Kim further explained.

Despite the rigid situation, they found themselves in and the unfavorable result that followed, JBK is still happy and satisfied with their whole X-Factor UK experience.

The vocal trio has gained a lot of lessons and experiences that made them grow as musicians and as a group, and they have also earned respects of fellow artists locally and abroad. Their exposure also paved the way to a lot of opportunities.

“Maraming gigs actually sa iba’t ibang sulok ng mundo. Sobrang nakakatuwa kasi ‘di ba alam naman natin kahit saang sulok ng mundo, may Pinoy community so parang natutuwa sila sa achievement din namin,” Bryan said.
