Pia’s role as a judge made headlines after some netizens blamed her for Rachel Peters loss in the prestigious pageant because the latter came from a rival beauty pageant camp.

Rachel was trained under Kagandahang Flores, while Pia was a product of Aces and Queens of Jonas Gaffud.

In the story of State of The Nation, Pia expressed how difficult the task at hand of choosing the next Miss Universe.

“It was difficult because I was happy to be a judge and to choose the next Miss Universe. But I also felt for the girls who were not gonna make it.”
