EXCLUSIVE: Gabbi Garcia quashes rumors of network transfer

By Felix Ilaya

Rumors of a network transfer came about when Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia posted a cryptic message on Twitter last March 30.

Netizens took note of Gabbi's use of the number "2" instead of the word "to," leading to speculations of her leaving GMA to transfer to another network.

This came right after her character Lily was killed off in the GMA Telebabad series Sherlock Jr. which paired her with her regular love team partner Ruru Madrid.

At the rehearsals of her upcoming performance at Manila X, GMANetwork.com had a quick and short interview with Gabbi where she got to talk about Sherlock Jr. and address the rumors surrounding her.

According to Gabbi, her departure from the show does not mean that she wants to transfer networks.

"It was heartbreaking for me, I'm not gonna lie but then it's beyond my control naman din. I'm just so happy that I got to spend time with the cast and the production and that I got to say goodbye. These things happen but it doesnt mean lilipat ako. That was a random tweet which had nothing to do with work.  I know that there are still a lot of incoming projects lined up for me”. she said.

Despite having her stay on Sherlock Jr. cut short, Gabbi is happy to share some of the things she learned on the show, "I learned patience and understanding because of Siri. It's our first time working with a professional dog talaga as part of the cast so it took us a lot of patience talaga for us to understand."

Aside from preparing for Manila X, Gabbi is set to fly to London in a few weeks for a work-related event and that she's excited for her fans to see it.
