EXCLUSIVE: Julie Anne San Jose rekindles dream to perform in a theater production after her singing with 'The Lion King' cast

Julie Anne San Jose had the privilege to sing with the cast of the award-winning musical The Lion King, and it only further rekindled her desire to perform in the theater.

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Julie admitted to being a fan of the Disney movie and that sharing the limelight with the cast members of the show were nothing short of a wonderful experience for her.

She said, “I’ve seen the musical mismo and I was in awe. I was in awe, I was moved to tears. Sobrang galing ng production. When they called me na sabi nila gusto nilang gumawa ng cover with me, wow. Di ko alam kung paano nangyari ‘yun but I’m just really grateful, truly honored and really, really thankful that I was chosen to sing one of the songs of The Lion King, with the cast pa.”

“It’s one of my favorite childhood movies, The Lion King. Sobrang nakakataba ng puso and I’m happy that the people appreciated it,” the Asia’s Pop Sweetheart added.

Julie shared she wouldn’t think twice doing a similar performance again and that it has always been her desire to be part of a playhouse production.

“’Yung theater it’s a different field talaga na hindi ko pa na-e-explore though I perform sa SPS (Sunday PinaSaya) na live din siya pero it’s different kasi pati ‘yung training, ‘yung discipline ng theater. Hopefully sana ma-try ko siya in the future, if time permits,” she said.
