Award-winning actress Jaclyn Jose is one of showbiz's rare gems. But if there's one thing she's learned from the industry, that would be fame comes with a price.

Jaclyn knows this too well that she even advices her son Gwen Garimond not to join showbusiness and choose a normal life instead.

She said, “I’m telling my boy [Gwen]. Believe me, walang mas fulfilling life than this, having a family, go home at night, eat together, be with your wife, ‘wag mong sasaktan, physical or emotional, take care of your children, be a good provider.”

Jaclyn also narrated the downside of being a fixture in showbiz. “This will take you away from anything, kaya nagiging dysfunctional din 'yung mga anak namin eh because we’re not there, kapag kailangan ka, wala ka. Kapag gustong huminga o hinahanap ka, wala ka.”

Which begs the question, would she let her granddaughter Ellie join showbiz? The veteran actress answered: "'Wag na, tama na ‘yung hanggang kay Andi.”

Despite her unfiltered description of the reality of showbiz, Jaclyn has tips for newbie actors who want to make it in the fast-paced world of showbiz.

“Kung gusto mo mag-stay, you have to love your job kasi kung hindi aalis din 'yan sa’yo. Kahit ano'ng bagay naman eh. Kung ano ‘yung ibinigay mo, ‘yun din ang ibabalik. Kung di mo mamahalin ‘yung trabaho mo, mawawala ‘yan. You have to set your priorities and be good about it. Kailangan galingan mo, kasi ang competition, malakas [lalo na] sa mga bata.”
