Preparing for a classic An unforgettable classic which originally starred Hilda Coronel, Dindo Fernando and Ms. Vilma Santos, the TV adaptation of Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan is bound to be a hit in the Dramarama block of GMA. “Ang ganda ng pelikula, parang hindi ginawa noong 80s. Ang bilis ng pacing, bago ko pinanood, nag-research ako sa Internet. May mga comments doon, kaya lang parang may mga loopholes, so pinanood ko. Hindi ko naramdaman, sa bilis noong takbo ng pacing, at sobrang entertaining, ang ganda!” Marvin said appreciatively about the movie. He was particularly moved by the performance of Dindo Fernando, who played the character of Louie, the same character which Marvin is portraying in the TV adaptation. “I was never a Dindo Fernando fan, but after watching this, ang galing pala nitong taong ito. Very few at selected 'yung mga napanood ko sa kanyang pelikula but with this one, moving actor siya. Mararamdaman mo 'yung performance niya. Iyon 'yung magaling na artista talaga,” says Marvin about the late dramatic actor. Yes to Dramarama Addressing the issue of why he accepted a project in the Dramarama block when he has already pulled off successful primetime shows, Marvin gives a very convincing argument regarding this. “I don’t see anything wrong with it. Nakita ko rin naman kung gaano kataas ang rating ng panghapon, and ang acting naman walang pinipiling oras. Ang magandang trabaho walang pinipiling viewers. So I don’t see anything wrong with it,” argued Marvin convincingly. He adds that it really doesn’t matter to him whether his show is slotted in the afternoon or during the primetime block, what matters most is the quality of the story. Indeed, Marvin is on a roll, with commendable stories and projects and unforgettable and challenging roles coming in, he is no doubt thanking his lucky stars which brought him to the Kapuso network. “I am very happy with me being here, wala na yata akong ikasasaya pa dito sa lugar ko sa GMA. I am very much fulfilled and thankful,” were Marvin Agustin’s parting words. Watch Marvin’s commendable performance in Danny Zialcita’s Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan weekdays right after Magdusa Ka.
