July 7 to 11, 2008: A Man's Moral Dilemma

Danny Zialcita's 'Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan we find Louie in a quandary as to the actions of the people close to him, especially of those whom he considers dear. His mind is now a constant litany of questions: Why is my wife insistent on forcing me to live with the woman I have loved before and may still love till now? Is it because of Elsa’s genuine concern for her friend Lily and her ill son Alvin? And why does it seem that Lily is playing along with Elsa’s scheme? Elsa seems too confident that the only way is for Louie to pretend that he is Alvin’s father and Lily, at this point, would do anything for her son. Desperation may be a terrible excuse for charity, but it is what may drive people to rationalize their behavior. Louie is pondering the possibility of resisting falling in love again with Lily as he is literally torn between the woman he now loves and the one whom he once loved. But can he overcome the tidal wave of emotions that are now seeking to turn his life upside down?
