She's back and she's bad!

One of the icons in the Philippine entertainment industry, Ms.Sandy Andolong is back on television for another Sine Novela classic. Playing Diana Zubiri’s liberal mom and Marvin Agustin’s boss in Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan, Ms. Sandy Andolong is definitely back and she is bad! Text by Loretta G. Ramirez, Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio “Danny Zialcita’s Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan is doing well in the Dramarama block of GMA. This did not come as a surprise though because aside from the much-loved story, a number of GMA’s best dramatic actors and actresses are in the show to give life to the characters of this endearing drama. One of them is Ms. Sandy Andolong who plays Gloria Cervantes. Leaning on the bad side, her character gives her daughter Elsa everything that her heart desires even if it is beyond reason and morals. I play the mother of Diana Zubiri, Dra. Gloria Cervantes, who owns the hospital where Marvin and Camille Prats work. Only child ko si Diana who is a bit spoiled. Very encouraging siya in terms of whatever her daughter wants or likes, she gives it to her,” explains this award-winning actress. Though quite contented with the way her character is developing in the story, she admits that she is not sure whether Gloria will turn a good leaf towards and redeem herself. “I hope so, wag naman sanang all out na masama, medyo different ito from Asian Treasures and Darna, medyo a softer version of pagka-kontrabida kasi she is supposed to be educated. Masyadong mapagbigay na nanay to a fault,” shares Ms. Sandy about her role. The actress further says that she is quite enjoying herself on the show and appreciates being part of GMA’s Sine Novela roster. “It’s nice to be back. I haven’t been working for the past six months. I have to rest for the last six months. Nakakatuwa kasi boring din sa bahay e,” admits the better half of Philippine’s premier dramatic actor, Mr. Christopher de Leon. She shares with iGMA that she has been looking forward to working with her former co-stars from Asian Treasures, Marvin Agustin and Diana Zubiri and welcomes this project as a pleasant reunion.
