As Miss Earth enters its 18th year, the prestigious environmental-themed pageant signed with GMA to be the pageant's official TV network.

In an interview with GMA Executive Joey Abacan, he's very excited about what's to come with the network's partnership with the Miss Earth organization.

"Matagal-tagal ko rin hinintay na ang Miss Earth is going to be with GMA and natutuwa ako because it's another addition to the pageants that we are actually airing here in GMA. -- Welcome to GMA and hopefully this is going to be a very very big and very very good partnership," said Joey.

Miss Lorraine Schuck of Carousel Productions, the organization that owns and runs Miss Earth, is also looking forward to collaborate with their new home network.

"First, I'm so excited that I'm Kapuso now, and [as for] plans, we'd like to work with GMA closely. I've always been welcoming suggestions, I'm open to any collaboration so isa lang naman ang aming target dito, it's to make Miss Earth advocacy really known to the world."

Silvia Celeste Cortesi, Philippines's representative for Miss Earth 2018, would love to show around her fellow candidates around the country to promote eco-tourism.

"I'm the host, I'm so proud to represent the Philippines, and I will show them the hospitality of Filipino people, the warmth and friendliness. I hope they can enjoy Philippines because it's really fun and it's a beautiful place," shared Silvia.

With 90 countries competing for the crown, Miss Earth 2018 will be held on November 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The pageant will also have famed RnB singer Brian McKnight as a guest performer.
