GMA Network wins top honors from the academe, students anew

Several Kapuso programs and personalities, both for television and radio categories, reaped prestigious recognitions anew at this year's ALTA Media Icon Awards and 8th EdukCircle Awards.

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, through the ALTA Media Icon Awards, named GMA's flagship AM radio station Super Radyo DZBB 594 as the Best AM Radio Station.

GMA News pillar Jessica Soho was accorded the Best Magazine Show Host for Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, which was also honored as this year's Best Magazine Show.

Fellow GMA News pillar Howie Severino was conferred the Best Documentary Program Host award for I-Witness.

Respected economics professor Winnie Monsod was hailed as Best News Talk Program Host for Bawal Ang Pasaway kay Mareng Winnie. Suzi Abrera, on the other hand, was named as Best Showbiz-Oriented Talk Show Host for Mars.

GMA's award-winning environmental and wildlife program Born to be Wild won as Best Travel Program while lifestyle show Pop Talk was chosen as the Best Lifestyle Program.

Entertainment television personalities were also recognized at the ALTA Media Icon Awards.

Pepito Manaloto lead stars Michael V. and Manilyn Reynes were cited as Best Comedy Program Actor and Best Comedy Program Actress, respectively.

Award-winning comedienne and actress Eugene Domingo took home the Best Game Show Host award for Celebrity Bluff.

Kapuso actress Kyline Alcantara emerged as the Most Promising Female Star for TV. Chlaui Malayao, on the other hand, was honored as the Best Child Performer for TV for Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko.

Various Kapuso artists and television programs also won at the 8th EdukCircle Awards.

Jessica Soho was recognized anew as Best Magazine Show Host for Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.

Unang Balita news anchor Ivan Mayrina was commended as Best Male News Anchor.

Kapuso documentarist Atom Araullo won as Best Documentary Journalist for his GMA documentary special Philippine Seas while Connie Sison was regarded as Best Health Show Host for Pinoy MD.

Meanwhile, Drew Arellano was awarded as Best Travel Show Host for GMA News TV's Byahe ni Drew.

Versatile actress Glaiza de Castro, on the other hand, was hailed as Best Actress for Contessa.

Comedian Jose Manalo bagged the Best in Comedy in the male category award for Sunday PinaSaya, while the Best in Comedy in the female category award was given to Celebrity Bluff host Eugene Domingo.

Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera and Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza were included in the list of 5 Most Influential Female Endorsers of the Year.

Maine was also named as Best Female Variety Show Host for Eat Bulaga.

Pambansang Bae Alden Richards, in turn, was included in the list of 5 Most Influential Male Endorsers of the Year.

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes was awarded as one of the 5 Most Influential Film Actors of the Year for the film Sid and Aya.
