READ: Miss Earth candidate names sponsor accused of sexual harassment

By Gia Allana Soriano

Kabilang dito sina Miss Earth-England Abbey-Anne Gyles-Brown.

Sa isang bahagi ng kaniyang naging pahayag, na inilabas niya sa kanyang Instagram account, sinabi ni Miss Earth-England Abbey, “ I enjoyed 50% of my trip but the other 50% was over shadowed by feeling exploited, vulnerable, unnerved & sexually harassed as I was approached by a sponsor on many occasions who asked for sexual favours in exchange for the Crown.”

Ayon sa kanyang Instagram post, binanggit ni Miss Earth-Guam Emma, “The sponsor who's name is Amado S. Cruz became a problem for many of the delegates, including myself.

“To focus on ONLY myself, I was pulled aside multiple times to be invited to Boracay, private islands and into his house and insisted that I and 'the latino women dance for him.'”

Sa kanyang Instagram post, sinabi ni Miss Earth-Cuba Monica, “I can confirm there was no sexual harassment happening in any shape or form.

“Yes, some of the sponsors did ask us if we wanted to extend our visas to go to Boracay after the pageant, but no one promised to get us further in the competition through 'sexual favors.'

“I don't think an invitation to Boracay is sexual harassment.”

Sinagot naman ito ni Miss Earth-Tonga Marie Aholelei Jonesse.

Aniya, "Just because you didn't experience it, doesn't mean that the sexual harassment didn't happen.

“Think before you speak because other girls are in different positions throughout the competition.”
