Nadine Gets Naughty

One of our favorite afternoon princesses, Nadine Samonte, is back on primetime! But the Nadine in 'Kim Samsoon' is far from the one we've gotten used to in her previous shows. Mauricio. “Ang pagkakaintindi ko sa character ko, isa akong good girl pero nagiging bad because of my ex and because of Kim Samsoon,” Nadine said when iGMA asked about her current project. Inquisitive and straight to the point, Nadine has always been a practical and mature young woman. This is probably why she is always given the chance to prove herself with mature roles even when she's way younger than her character. In Kim Samsoon , yet another side of Nadine will be presented to her adoring fans, but this time around, she may not be as sweet—which is why she admits that she is not yet that comfortable with her character. She's playing 'the real' Hannah. “Alanganin pa ako sa role ko pera kaya ko ito,” she determinedly tells herself. Nadine's fans would surely agree with her without a doubt. Even though playing a kontrabida is a first for her, she has already proven that she can rise to any challenge. She says that she's happy enough now that she has a new project she can sink her teeth into: “Wala akong project eh, one month na. Kaya nalulungkot ako sa bahay eh. Feeling ko nagsa-start na naman ako sa umpisa kaya siguro nung nabasa ko iyung script—ahh, madali na ito. Kasi ‘di naman ako sunod-sunod, napahinga ako for one month.” She is also excited to play the bad girl—at least once! “Mas ok para maiba naman," Nadine says enthusiatically. "Kasi lagi na lang ako nakakaawa, naapi, sabi ko, parang mas maganda na maiiba naman ngayon.” Excitedly Evil This is also the first comedy series for Nadine. Unfortunately, there won’t be too many funny moments with Hannah. “Oo, comedy pero ang role ko serious type siya na may konting…" she hesitates and continues, “scheming si Hannah eh.” Whatever schemes Hannah is up to is bound to add spice to Kim Samsoon. But the show’s unusual combination of stars will prove to be another challenge for the young actress. She takes this into consideration as well. She explains how she feels when she heard about the star-studded cast: “Una masaya and excited pero at the same time, kinakabahan din. Pressure din kasi mas matagal na silang artista kaysa sa akin at saka first time ko pa lang sila makakatrabaho pero nakaka-excite naman ng sobra. Kasi may bago na naman ako matutunan as kanila.” Lastly, is she looking forward to being mean to Asia’s Songbird? She laughs good-naturedly, “Iyun nga kaya nakaka-pressure din kasi ‘di ko alam kung paano ko siya aapihin! Kasi mamaya bigla ako batuhin ng mga tao!” If that happens, then it only means that Nadine has proven she can be both a kontrabida and a bida.
