EXCLUSIVE: Catriona Gray on Filipino fans: 'It's the best fam ever'

Manghang-mangha raw si Catriona Gray sa suportang ibinibigay ng mga Pilipino sa kaniya para sa pagsali niya sa Miss Universe pageant.

“Iba sa buong mundo, promise! It's the best fam ever,” sabi ni Miss Universe Philippines Catriona nang makausap siya ng GMANetwork.com para sa “Fearless First Step” campaign ng Olay kamakailan.

Patuloy niya, “Never in this journey have I ever felt alone or unsupported.

“Like, I always felt I have that support. That's really essential, e, especially as a beauty queen, na parang that support makes you hungry to do well for your country.”

Kaya naman sa kaniyang paglaban para sa Miss Universe crown, sabi ni Catriona, “It's not just for [me] anymore, it's for everyone.”

Samantala, aminado si Catriona na sa kabila ng mga positibong komento tungkol sa kaniyang ipinapakita sa kaniyang Miss Universe journey, mayroon pa ring ilang mga negatibo ang pagtingin dito.

Pero hindi raw ito masyadong pinapansin ng Pinay beauty queen.

Aniya, “Honestly, it's a speckling of negatives and an ocean of positives, you know what I mean?

“There are times that yeah, it gets under my skin.

“But I always remind myself, there are always people who say negative things.

“They don't know me, they don't know who I am or what I stand for.

“They don't know my story, so they're judgment is shallow so why does that affect me when they don't even know who I am.”

Sa huli, sinabi ni Catriona na buong-loob ang ibinibigay niya upang makamit ang korona para sa Pilipinas.

Sabi ni Catriona, “I've gone above and beyond of what was required from me.

“I hope that every single aspect of it will make them proud to be Filipino.”
