He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

The love story of Kim and Cyrus punctuates our evenings with a host of emotions. Sometimes Kim brings us to tears with her love woes but most of the time she makes us laugh with her funny and outrageous banters with Cyrus. No doubt Ako si Kim Samsoon is one of the most enjoyable romantic dramady (drama-comedy) on television today. Text by Loretta G.Ramirez, Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio The story of Ako si Kim Samsoon revolves around the unlikely love story of Kim and Cyrus. Starting as a simple ‘love contract’ to repay Cyrus for a loan, their relationship blossomed into a full-bloomed affair that nobody expected. He loves Kim Playing the role of Cyrus is Mark Anthony Fernandez who admits enjoying the role very much. In fact he mentions that after this project he wants to do another show like this. “I want to do another comedy, parang ganito na mas comedy pa. Pinagusapan namin ni Ms. Regine na sana magkasama kami ulit,” says Mark during our interview in the set of Kim Samsoon in Tagaytay. Truly his relationship with his onscreen partner, Regine Velasquez, has made progress. From the awkward stage of awe and utter disbelief that he is the leading man of the Asia’s Songbird, to establishing a good rapport with Regine on and off screen, Mark’s relationship with Regine has indeed moved to the next level. And this is very evident on screen based on the comments of the loyal viewers of the show. This fit quite perfectly with the story of the Kim Samsoon now that Cyrus has truly fallen in love with Kim and that their relationship has taken another step forward. In fact, a loyal viewer commented that Mark and Regine's kissing scenes have greatly improved as compared to their initial awkward takes. He loves Kim not Of course in any love story there will be someone who will try to ruin the relationship. In Ako si Kim Samsoon, Hannah (played by Nadine Samonte) who is Cyrus’ ex-girlfriend, tries to get Cyrus back and destroys the trust of Kim with Cyrus. Telling Cyrus that she was sick with cancer and has a few months to live, Hannah made Cyrus confused. His conscience dictated him to be with Hannah on her dying days and leave Kim. In a confrontation scene where Cyrus has to decide who would he choose, many viewers were moved by Kim’s pleas to Cyrus. “Nangako ka sa akin hindi na tayo maghihiwalay, sabihin mo na selfish ako pero ako ang mahal mo, ako ang piliin mo.” Cyrus was torn between his love for Kim and his moral conscience. “Hannah is dying, hindi ko sya kayang biguin,” were Cyrus’ sentiments. But fate took pity on him and he found out that Hannah is lying about her condition in last week’s episodes. What will happen to the love story of Kim and Cyrus? Will Kim take Cyrus back now that he knows the truth about Hannah? "Marami pang dapat abangan dito sa Kim Samsoon. Maraming salamat sa pagpanood nyo sa amin lagi," were Mark's parting words and message to the viewers of this romantic comedy.
