APT's 'The Journey': Not your typical drama fare

Seldom do we see Lenten presentations that defy the usual, run-of-the-mill drama stories that bank on histrionic crying scenes. This year, one television special promises to change our perspectives In life as well as our definition of faith.

APT Entertainment proudly presents “The Journey.” Set in an apocalyptic era, it tells the story of Adrian (Alden Richards) who lived at the time where humans have become barbaric and murderous creatures. His only way of survival was to live a solitary life. Until one day, an abandoned baby is left under his care. And to make things more difficult for Adrian, he is forced to take on a mission of bringing the infant to a safe haven.

But given the sinister realities of his existence, how would he be able to surpass all the challenges and perils that will befall him?

“A concept like this during Holy Week is groundbreaking,” says Alden

“This kind of story is far from what you'd expect to be shown on a Holy Week, but one thing is for sure, it will make you take a second look at yourself and your faith. It will make you ask questions. 'Nasaan na ba ako sa puntong ito ng buhay ko? Gaano nga ba kalakas ang pananampalataya ko sa Diyos?'”

At the helm of this project is multi-awarded film and television director, Michael B. Tuviera, who's equally proud of this new Lenten offering.

“'The Journey' is about making hard decisions,” says Tuviera. “We are offering our viewers a story that will not only move their emotions, but also attempt to shake their sensibilities as a human being. For all we know, this can be a catalyst in redefining their spiritual beliefs.”\

This APT Lenten presentation also features Max Collins, Kristoffer Martin, Vaness del Moral, Rodjun Cruz, Jennica Garcia-Uytingco, Nonie Buencamino, Irma Adlawan, and Ricky Davao.

"The Journey” will be shown on April 20, 2019, Black Saturday at 7:00pm on GMA-7.
