Months after taking a break from her appearances, Yasmien Kurdi is back to star in the TV remake of Saan Darating ang Umaga. – Interview excerpts from Chika Minute. Yasmien, whom we last saw opposite JC DeVera in the show Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Ka and the film Loving You is returning this time in another GMA Dramarama sa Hapon classic. Yasmien will reprising the role originally played by Maricel Soriano who won an award for the role as Best Supporting Actress back in 1983. During the story conference of Saan Darating ang Umaga, the young actress straightened out some issues that have cropped up when she was away concentrating on her studies, foremost of which is the rumor that she was severely affected by the break up of her love team with JC DeVera. "Pag nag-aaral po ba kayo ibig sabihin marami na po kailangan maglabasan na kung ano-anong masasamang issue? Eto po yung pag aaral ko, parang binigyan ko ng gift yung sarili ko eh," she explained. She continued, "Wala po kaming away ni JC, kung ano po yung iniisip ninyong away or something, wala po yun. Minsan hindi ko po alam kung sino pong gumagawa ng issues pero hindi na po kailangan pag issue-han dahil wala na po kaming show together." However, what made her emotional was the recent passing of Direk Khryss Adalia, who she got close to during their time taping Bakekang. "During the time na mom ko sinusugod sa ospital, tapos nag fifty-fifty siya doon, ang kausap ko sa phone si Inay (Khryss), hindi niya ako iniwan, as in hindi niya ako iniwan," she recalled about the director when her mother had to be hospitalized.
