Iza Calzado's character in 'One True Love' is crucial, in the sense that she provides the conflict, the twist, and ultimately, the resolution of it all. She is Bela, unfairly described as "the other woman," but is, in fact, only a woman in love. But when she hears of Migs's upcoming wedding to new girlfriend Joy (Marian Rivera), she returns to win her man back. Bela may have gone after her aspirations, but she never stopped loving her childhood sweetheart. But Migs gets into an accident and develops selective amnesia, which distorts his perception of time periods. Bela takes advantage of Migs' condition, and although she feels guilty about it, in her heart, siya pa rin ang nauna sa pagmamahal ni Migs. "My character chose to put action—hindi yung nag-isip lang siya. [Bumalik] siya. She's the type, e. Even her move to Canada—she took matters into her own hands," shares Iza. "At saka kailangan gawin mo yun also for you and for that person." Even if Bela wants to win Migs back, hindi raw siya bad person, according to Iza. "Hindi nga niya aapihin si [Joy], e. We have, of course, our moments, na very uncomfortable na magtitinginan [kami]. Very grown up. [But I think] it happens, ha. Yung mayroon silang, 'I will not do this now.' Hindi naman sila nagpapaka-plastic, they [just] think na wala namang mangyayaring maganda kung nag-eksena pa silang ganoon." The love scene Ayon sa mga stars ng movie, magkakaroon ng tatlong onscreen love scenes si Dingdong—two with Marian, and one with Iza. "It was quick! Mabilis lang talaga. It was parang kiss lang, [pero] medyo intense. Kasi it's more of hunger, passion," kwento ni Iza about her love scene with Dingdong. She explains na essential ang eksena na ito to complicate the choices of the characters in the story. She adds, "This was the longest [kiss]! Pretty rough [too]. Ganoon talaga yung intensity niya. [But Dingdong and I] had kissing scenes before, even in Atlantika na mas marami, pa [nga]. This is the reason why Iza is comfortable with her former leading man already. "Magkaibigan kami. The only time na naging uncomfortable ako is when we were starting out. Sobra na kaming parang magkapatid ang turingan, as in lokohan! The actress clarifies, however, that whenever she has love scenes, she tries to be "in the moment." "Pero it's not like after that I want to go out and kiss him some more! It's not that!" Dagdag niya, "Kasi people seem to think that when people have love scenes onscreen, it carries out [even after the camera stops rolling]! No! Not all! Mayroong ganoon, but not all! "I wanted to do a role na mas mature, and on a different level from what I used to do na good girl. Hindi naman akong kontrabidang nang-aapi dito, pero it's a more mature take on life; hidni laging martyr. It's very real." -- Text by Jillian Q. Gatcheco. Photos courtesy of GMA Films.
