Catriona recently promoted an event, inviting netizens to join the discussion about the Pride month.

This, however, didn't escape the criticism of some of her followers who questioned her Christian faith and how it gets compromised because of her support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

While Catriona's response to a particular comment has already been deleted as of writing, another account was able to quote her, saying, “My belief as a Christian does no limit me from fighting for the rights of others. Religion is never an excuse to hate, put down or act indifferent to the suffering of others. I believe God is love, and I will treat - no matter who they are, to the best of my ability, with love.”

The beauty queen earned praises for voicing out such strong sentiments.

Catriona also recently collaborated with make-up artist Jelly Eugenio to celebrate the Pride Month.

Jelly wrote, “So happy to have accomplished this little but very symbolic project with @missuniverse @catriona_gray. Grateful to meet and be part of the journey of a queen who is passionate and compassionate, who is not afraid to speak, and has a real love for everyone no matter what or where they come from.

"A woman who truly values humanity at this point of time when we can tend to forget what it truly means to be humane. And as a proud member of the LGBTIQ+ community, I always aim to be a good role model for the younger generation (all of them), and I hope through the little things I, and my muses, do we can continue to inspire all of you to never stop chasing your dreams, always do your best and be a good person - value yourself, and value others.
