WATCH: 'Toy Story 4' promises to bring delight to kids and kids at heart

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Toy Story 4 promises to bring joy to moviegoers both kids and the kids at heart.

And just like its predecessors, the franchise continues the adventure of our favorite toys, Sheriff Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, and the rest of the gang as they live under the care of new toy owner Bonnie.

According to producer Jonas Rivera, “[Toy Story] 3 is a great ending but it's not the ending. It's the ending of Andy and Woody.

“But Toy Story is all about Woody.

“So, the question is, 'What does he do next?' If he's with this new little kid, there's no way it's gonna be the same - and it's not.”

Toy Story 4 promises to bring in new characters like Forky, played by American comedian Tony Hale, who suffers from an existential crisis about being a toy, which the others try to help him understand what it means to be one. Also making his animation debut is Duke Caboom, played by Keanu Reeves, a toy stuntman who promises to jump a ramp through a toy ring of fire but always fail to do so.

The Toy Story series is a pioneer in the computer-animation film industry as it was the first feature-length film created entirely by CGI (Computer-generated imagery) in 1995. The franchise is based on the anthropomorphic concept that all toys, unknown to humans, are secretly alive.

It's main characters Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear are principally voiced by Hollywood actors Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, respectively.

Toy Story 4 is now showing in theaters nationwide.
