Ebe cited panic attacks and he explained that every time he performs, he feels like people take "bits and pieces" of him.

"[Panic attacks] is one of the many factors," he explained in a chat with GMANetwork.com after his performance at Fete Music Festival last June 21.

"'Yung panic attacks kasi dala na 'yun ng stress, na fatigue of, you know, constantly being away from home, being on the road."

After nine months of not performing live, Ebe came back in May 2019 with a benefit gig.

Ebe explained his decision to come back despite having thoughts that he's already done.

"I'm a musician and not everyone in this world is privilege to be one," he said.

"I just wanna make use of whatever was given by God to me and I don't think I'm done yet, I thought I was [but] I needed a little breather to re-assess and to ask myself why I'm doing this in the first place."

Ebe revealed that he returned performing live neither for his label nor for his manager but for his self.

"I do this because this is the only thing I can do right. 'Yun yung na-realize ko nung break," he ended.
