Ipinagtanggol ng Binibining Pilipinas beauty queens si reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray matapos siyang mabatikos at tawaging mataba ng isang Thai beauty queen aspirant.

Sa isang press conference, isinaad nina Gazini Ganados, Bea Patricia Magtanong, at Resham Saeed ang kani-kanilang pananaw sa isyu.

Pahayag ni Gazini, “There will always be people who will try to judge you from the outside but what they say won't matter as long as you feel good about yourself.

“And Cat knows who she is. I'm pretty much confident she was not hurt about it.”

Ito rin ang pananaw ni Binibining Pilipinas International 2019 Bea Patricia Magtanong.

“I think she has been facing this type of criticism ever since Binibining Pilipinas and yet she rose above it.

“She proved to everybody that it's not about how much you weigh, it's not about how you look, and she won Miss Universe.”

Para naman kay 2019 Binibining Pilipinas Supranational Resham Saeed, hindi nararapat ang ganitong klaseng body-shaming.

“Personally, I don't think Miss Universe deserves that kind of criticism.

“I don't think that we're in this day and age that we judge and shame women for what they look like. Let's judge them by the work they produce.”

Nababatikos ngayon online si Coco Arayha Suparuk, isang kandidata ng Miss Grand Thailand 2019, dahil sa kaniyang pahayag tungkol kay Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.

Sa kaniyang Instagram stories, itinawag niyang “fat” o “mataba” si Catriona at ikinumpara pa ang katawan ni Catriona kay Miss Grand International 2018 Clara Sosa.

Hanggang ngayon, wala pang statement si Catriona tungkol sa isyu.
