By Aedrianne Acar

“It is nice to see that not everything has to be a rom-com for millennials.”

This was part of the review released by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB) about 'Family History,' the comeback film project of multi-awarded comedian Michael V.

The star-studded family drama movie has been graded B by the evaluation board as well.

According to their report, they were impressed with the whole film and even said that the Kapuso ace comedian has "great potential" as a film director.

“This is an effective film sensitively directed by Michael V. He knows his cinematic language.

“The direction is very good, the pacing is quite good as well and the director doesn't forget that the film is essentially fun.”

In addition, the Cinema Evaluation Board also lauded Michael and his leading lady Dawn Zulueta for their performance as Alex and May.

“Both Dawn and Michael were excellent in their roles. Michael shows his versatility while Dawn was constantly convincing.”

The movie is a joint project of Mic Test Entertainment and GMA Pictures. It will be shown in cinemas nationwide on July 24.
