Polo, looking fierce as Harold

Polo Ravales grew out his hair para sa portrayal niya as Harold, ang kanyang role sa 'Gagambino.' Pero as the series draws to an end, binalik ni Polo ang kanyang previous look—close-cropped hair and a very fierce look. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio.
Earlier than his call time dumating si Polo Ravales sa set ng Gagambino, so they could start on his makeup for Harold's new look. So during the interview, iGMA had to ask: Gaano ba katagal i-apply 'yung face paint para gawing monstrous ang appearance ni Polo? "Thirty minutes lang 'yan," Polo answers. Dagdag pa niya, he had his hair cut daw to give him a fiercer look: "Actually, I grew it long 'di ba? Tapos, wala—kailangan ko kasi maging mas matapang 'yung itsura para maiba. Tutal, nag-iba 'yung look ko, nagpa-cut ulit ako ng hair." Pero even with the more evil look Polo is sporting for Harold these days, natutuwa naman ang aktor na hindi natatakot sa kanya ang mga batang fans ng show. "Actually, tawag na nga nila sa akin, Harold na, eh. Wala naman [nang-aaway]. And what's good about it, parang 'pag nakikita ako ng mga bata, natutuwa pa rin sila kahit na kontrabida ako dito." Sa pagtatapos ng Gagambino, iGMA asked Polo kung ano ba ang mga dapat abangan ng mga tao from the show. "Well, siyempre mas exciting 'yung story, mas magaganda 'yung fight scenes," Polo replies, refusing to give anything away.
Sa sariling career naman, Polo says na honestly, wala pa siyang alam na susunod after Gagambino: "So I would just have to wait." But he won't be idle naman during the wait. He has Stoodio Bar—a bar and restaurant he put up with some friends—to occupy his time. "Meron kaming mga bands, kasi kumuha ako ng street bands; tapos may DJ kami, may mga ladies' night kami," aniya. And for bar-hoppers who are also fans of Polo, be sure to be on the lookout for the actor when you go to Stoodio. Ayon sa kanya mismo, "'Pag wala akong taping, I go there."
