Lonely Times for Lovi on LaLola

Sa pagtatapos ng 'LaLola,' maraming tao ang malulungkot—including the cast and crew. Pero for Lovi Poe, may iba pang reason why 'LaLola' will end sadly. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio.
Para kay Lovi Poe, LaLola began on a good note and will end on a sad one.
"Before, sabi ko, masaya sa set ng LaLola," she tells iGMA. Pero after what happened last December of 2008, Lovi says things have changed. "Naging malungkot nung nawala si Marky [Cielo]."
Though the rest of the cast is doing their best to stay positive and happy, hindi kayang ikaila ni Lovi na hindi na puwedeng bumalik sa dati. So to ask her how she feels now about the show, ang sagot lang niya ay: "Okay lang. 'Yun na lang 'yung masasabi ko. "Nung nagsta-start kami, it was happy. But heto na, okay lang," pag-amin niya. Without the person na lagi niyang nakakasama, at nakasama sa napakaraming shows before, Lovi adds, "It is very, very sad." At hindi lang si Lovi ang malungkot. Even her character Julia experienced the same loss nang mawala ang character ni Marky na si Enrico. "She left, kasi na-depress siya sa nangyari kay Enrico." Pero while Lovi has support from friends, and even her fellow cast mates and the staff of the show, Julia had none—especially with her onscreen mother Susanna (played by Eula Valdez) being busy with her own problems. "Pumunta siya sa ibang lugar, [at] marami siyang nalaman tungkol sa mga babaylan," Lovi says. Julia also puts her whole being into finding out who she is—only to find out who she's not: Susanna's daughter. "Pagbalik niya dito, tinanong niya sa mom niya kung ano ang babaylan, tapos nalaman niya na ampon siya." Things get more interesting para sa kanila ni Susanna in the last two episodes of the show, to be shown tonight at bukas ng gabi, and Lovi is loving the magical aspect of her character. "Masaya [siya] kasi first time kong magka-role na may powers." At least, kahit doon man lang ay maging maligaya si Lovi when she remembers the show. Pero for the show's fans, Lovi doesn't want them to dwell on the sadness. So instead, she wants them to focus on the future, like the impending end of the show. "Thank you sa pagpanood niyo ng LaLola. Sana suportahan niyo tuloy-tuloy hanggang sa matapos na kasi malapit na."
