Gardo: 'Nadadala ako sa eksena!'

If you hear an ominous laugh on the set of “Luna Mystika,” don’t worry -- the engkantos have not come to life; it’s just Gardo Versoza in character! iGMA caught him taping a scene with Heart Evangelista, and we were impressed! Text by Jillian Q. Gatcheco. Interviewed with Erick Mataverde. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio. Carried away "Nag-sink in na talaga ‘yung character, and lalo na kapag nagkakasama-sama na ‘yung mga iba pang engkanto," balita ni Gardo sa amin matapos ang kanyang taping. He shares that he loves being the villain and doing things he normally wouldn’t get away with in real life. "Na-miss ko 'yun eh, kasi 'pag 'yung mga the usual drama, wala namang ganoon, so 'yun, nakakaaliw!
For someone who has already made a name for himself in showbiz, Gardo admits that he still gets challenged with his roles, especially when he has scenes with special effects. [For instance], 'yung mga black butterflies and then dumidilim. "[The scenes are explained beforehand], then minsan kinu-cue as we go along, kaya nafi-feel ko siya tapos excited din ako mapanood 'pag naka-mix na ‘yung effects," he explains. Aside from Luna Mystika, Gardo just finished shooting an indie film, Sabong, which is set to be included in the LA Film Festival. Remembering 'Machete' What inspires Gardo at this point in his life? He was referring to his Machete 2 days, of course, the sexy movie that ultimately made him a household name in the mid-'90s. Tune in every weeknight to see more of Gardo as Dante in Luna Mystika!
