WATCH: Hollywood actor Jacob Batalon admits he's not much like his character in 'Spider-Man'

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Filipino-American actor Jacob Batalon, popularly known as Ned Leeds from Spider-Man, recently visited GMA Network for a one-on-one interview with Iya Villania.

In the aired interview last Friday, September 20, the 22-year-old shared how he's the direct opposite of his character in the popular superhero movie.

In a self-deprecating joke, he said, “Ned is really smart. I'm not really smart. I'm not as smart as Ned.

“He's a good, innocent person too. But we both like to have fun.”

When he's not working, Jacob reveals he often dabbles into songwriting.

“I go to auditions, meetings, and I write songs sometimes.

“I don't want a producer to put it out there or anything. It's my sort of, creative outlet.”

Before the interview ended, Iya had Jacob try several Christmas dishes such as puto bumbong, bibingka, and keso de bola on pandesal.

“That cheese is really strong,” he said after taking a bite.

“I think I'll need a breath mint after.”

Jacob met with GMA executives, hung out with Andre Lagdameo in Kapuso ArtisTambayan, and had a Q&A with Kapuso celebrities shortly after his interview.
