Sunshine returns with a vengeance!

Happy at kabado -- 'yan ang feeling ni Sunshine sa kanyang pagbabalik television through "All About Eve." After almost a year without a major project to show off her acting chops, Sunshine is back with a vengeance, figuratively speaking that is! Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio.
Matagal-tagal ring nawala si Sunshine Dizon sa showbiz. In fact, the only show she can proudly call her own last year was her four-episode stint sa OBRA. But the time for rest is over, and Sunshine is happy na makababalik na siya sa trabaho without anymore complications.
"I'm excited of course," Sunshine tells iGMA during our exclusive interview sa pictorial ng All About Eve. "And nag-first taping day na ako. Medyo kinabahan ako nung unang araw pero okay naman," she says at malaking tulong din daw na si Direk Gil Tejada, the same director na tumulong sa Encantadia at nag-direct ng two of her other shows, Impostora at La Vendetta. "So happy naman ako dahil I feel really at home. Medyo kabado pa rin ng kaunti, parang mixed emotions." And, Sunshine adds that it helps na alam niyang marami na ang nag-aabang sa All About Eve. "Ang lakas talaga ng feedback!" Kwento niya na when she updated her status sa isang networking site to announce her first taping day, she “got so many comments na they're really waiting for it. It feels so good kasi, alam mo yun, wala pa man ['yung show], alam mong may following na." It's a huge relief for her and she says it's a little exciting too. "Kasi siyempre marami na namang maiinis [sa akin]. Pero I believe that the audience na naman now [is] mature enough, and they understand naman na I'm just playing a character. And the more nga silang mainis, the better, kasi it means to say I'm doing my job right," she says. Yes, Sunshine will be playing the antagonist sa All About Eve with the role of Ericka. "Maiintindihan naman nila 'yung character ni Ericka -- kung bakit ganoon na lang siya maghangad para maging maayos 'yung buhay niya." Besides, hindi lang naman daw siya ang masama sa show. "Maraming scheming, maraming mga may hidden desires [but there are reasons] kung bakit ganyan ang ugali nila."
For Ericka, it's because of her big dreams. "'Yung past [kasi] ni Ericka, nanggaling [siya] sa slums. She really worked hard and studied hard para maka-graduate." And she graduates summa cum laude no less! "Mataas kasi ang pangarap niya sa buhay." And that's one thing that Sunshine hopes people will relate to. "Pero sana mag-serve din as a lesson ‘yung eventually magiging fall niya dahil sa sobrang taas ng pangarap niya sa buhay. Pero 'yung magsikap ka sa buhay, siguro magandang kunin ‘yun ng mga tao." Admittedly, walang balak si Sunshine panoorin ang original All About Eve while taping the soap. "I think it's better that way para may sarili akong interpretation nung character." However, she adds na marami na rin naman daw ang nagkwento ng story sa kanya. "Pero I really don't have an idea" and she plans on keeping it that way.
