Former football star David Beckham arrived in the Philippines to promote AIA Philam Life Insurance last Sunday, October 13.

Clad in his dark Ralph Lauren suit, the football legend said he was very excited to visit the country because he's always received great support from his Pinoy fans back when he was still a football player.

“To come to the Philippines for me is incredible, you know?

“I've always had such huge support from people here, the fans, for whatever team I played for.”

Now that he's retired, David has been focusing all his efforts on inspiring children to take up the sport he was known for.

“My role as ambassador is such an important one because I got to spend time with kids kicking the balls around, helping them learn about healthy living, and it's something that I really enjoy. “

Earlier that day, he was at the McKinley Stadium to participate in a football clinic organized by Philam Life 7, a tournament founded by former Philippine national football team member Anton Del Rosario.

This is the third time David has visited the country.

Back when he was still a player for LA Galaxy, he played against the Philippine Azkals football team in 2011.

Three years later, he visited the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban City where he served as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
